What makes our coaches different? We currently employ a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. This means that you receive the same level of training that is required from strength coaches around the country in Division One athletics. We also employ a Speed Coach certified through the National Academy of Speed and Explosion for you to create and build upon the foundations of Agility, Speed, and Power required for all athletes to be successful.

Olympic weightlifting has been around since the late 1800's. It can be viewed during the Summer Olympics and has gained publicity due to the rise of CrossFit. The Clean and Jerk and The Snatch are the two lifts that are performed at maximal weight for one repetition, when competing. It takes strength, balance/stability, coordination, flexibility, and determination to perform these exercises correctly. During this program you will learn the basics of these two lifts and how to perform them properly. You never know, YOU could be the next Olympic Weightlifter and compete in the 2024 Olympic games. The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) is the world controlling body for weightlifting and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). There are 4 different age groups that an individual can compete at and they are as listed: YOUTH: 13 – 17 years of age, JUNIOR: 15 – 20 years of age, SENIOR: > 15 years of age, and MASTERS: > 35 years of age. Within these age groups you compete against others that are in your specific body weight class.
OLY Level 1:
Program design: PVC Pipes will be used to mimic a barbell and assist you to learn the movements properly with very little weight. As the individuals progress and show the ability to perform the exercises correctly, a barbell may take the place of the PVC pipe and weights may be added. FORM is imperative and weight will not be added until technique is mastered. Each movement will be broken down into parts and then brought all together by the end of the program. This program is appropriate for anyone interested in learning the basics of Olympic Weight lifting and may be interested in progressing into future programs that are more advanced. Participants meet for class three times per week for 60 mins for four weeks. You read that right... that's 12 sessions at less than $13 a piece!
